Cops and Robbers:
New York Mafia
(JCC)
About the committee
The 1950s in the US is highlighted by the red scare, civil rights but certainly also organized crime. This mid-20th century era is considered the peak of the New York mafia. From dice to drugs, the mob is hellbent on expanding its influence and business.
The New York crime scene was notoriously run by the "Five Families”. These families had stakes in illegal operations with varying natures and had to manage to make profit while competing against one another. Not only did they have to deal with each other, but with law enforcement following their every step too.
Delegates will play the part of key figures in the battle between these two forces in a Joint Crisis Committee. Those on the side of the mafia will attempt to maintain and expand their operations. However their individual Family is always their top priority ; no matter the cost. Law enforcement will be tasked to utilize different strategies and tactics to dismantle this underworld network by any means possible - absolutely legally of course but who’s making sure? In a scene where one’s loyalty and values are tested, behind-the-back deals and outright violence run amok, who can really be trusted?
