International Green New Deal

General Assembly

In the 1930s, Franklin Delano Roosevelt's "New Deal" represented a revolutionary form of government intervention. FDR's policy single-handedly brought the United States and its population from the slumbers of the "Great Depression" and into the light of a new age. Fast-forward to today, Democrats such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders have talked about the "Green New Deal". This proposed American government policy would be centred around the environment and shifting the United States' economy to renewable energy. However, what if many countries adopted an environmentally sustainable economy? This committee will showcase delegates discussing and bringing forth innovative solutions regarding the intricacies of climate change. Moreover, delegates will come up with innovative solutions to make an eco-friendly world economy.
